Constructed – Off Grid Home – Tambo Crossing – East Gippsland

The client brief was to design an off grid family home and one that embraces the spectacular views of the Tambo Valley and incorporate the local pink granite stone into the ground floor. Result – Contemporary two storey design for an off grid family home, where the ground floor is clad with pink granite field stone from the site and capture the extraordinary 360 degree views. Sustainable features include: an array of passive solar design, being north facing skillion roof that is fitted with an array of PVs for renewable energy generation and battery storage, thermally broken double glazed windows, LED lighting, solar hot water, exposed concrete slab for thermal mass, large water tanks, low flow shower roses and taps and water efficient appliances throughout and a wetback system on the Rayburn cooker. Liveable feature include: a laundry chute and a lift to access the upstairs living area, wider doorways and passageways and greater distance in kitchen and step free access into shower recess
